The Town of Montgomery Food Pantry provides supplemental and emergency food assistance to approx. 250 families each month. It is a resource for anyone in need to receive food once a month and is available to residents living in the Valley Central School District. It is a privately-run pantry that has volunteers, staffed by five local churches.
The pantry is mainly funded by private donations, local food drives, and many community groups. The pantry does receive state funding through grants and are able
to purchase food at a lesser cost. Through the Hudson Valley Food Bank, the pantry can purchase approx. $10 of food for every $1 donated. They also purchase perishable things such as eggs, meat, and cheese in bulk.
