VC Echoes Newsletter
Matthew Gill, Editor
The VC Echoes is the official publication of the Valley Central Teachers' Association (NYSUT Local 14-135, AFT Local 3076) and is published regularly throughout the school year. 650 copies are currently printed for active members as well as district administration and BOE members. Our retired members often access the union newsletter from this site.
Matthew Gill, a 6th Grade teacher at the Valley Central Middle School, is the acting Echoes Editor and VCTA Secretary. Matt is an energetic teacher and a passionate union member. He is looking forward to continuing the VCTA tradition of quality newsletter publications. As editor, he has set goals to get the staff more involved in writing, make the publication more easily digestible and accessible, and take a more forward approach toward educating and informing the staff of political, social, and economic current events. Matt believes that the union’s news and outreach division should be clear and blunt about the political climate as it relates to unions and our place in society.
The VC Echoes has won an extensive list of acknowledgments from the New York Teacher and the American Federation of Teachers Communications Network throughout the years. Each edition explores issues of concern to VCTA members in relationship to our profession, as well as the students and community that we proudly serve. For more information, please email Matthew Gill (firstname.lastname@example.org). You may also contact the VCTA via phone or US Mail. Visit our About Us page for specific contact information.
